ICL UK and its Technology Plc yesterday announced an October Update to its Spring personal computer range ann-ounced last April (CI No 1,874): there are two A4-size 80386SL/25-based notebooks, the 6.4 lbs mono NB3861 for around UKP1,700 and 6.8 lbs colour NB3861c for UKP3,200, with up to 8Mb RAM and 120Mb, docking modules for desktop connection and optional wireless connection to facsimile and modems via the ETACS and NMT-900 networks; second is a new Compact Line of slimline, ergonomic desktop 25MHz 80386SX and 80486SX, and 33MHz 80486 machines costing between UKP1,200 and UKP1,910; third are new 80486 versions of the CX and CXe personal computer ranges for UKP1,300 to UKP4,630; fourth are new disk adaptors for EISA systems with SCSI devices – a cache controller and array controller; fifth are new 80486DX2 EISA FX486/66 deskside servers for UKP2,550 to UKP7,060 and an expanded 80486-based multiprocessor MX range running at 50MHz for UKP9,320 to UKP13,100; sixth are new ergonomic VE 15C colour 15 and VE colour 17 displays; finally, the TeamWare personal computer local network manager has been enhanced with the TeamForum conferencing system, and the TeamOffice software now runs under Unix System V.4.
