The personal computer database market will experience substantial growth in the next three years according to an independent survey of developers commissioned by Borland International Inc from The Research Alliance of San Rafael, California: according to the research, 91% of the developers expect the demand for micro database applications to increase over the next three years, with 65% believing the market willincrease significantly – on average, they look for a 34% rise in sales, and believe that nearly 40% of growth will result from first-time users rather than upgrades – and the most important? MS-DOS now, followed by Windows and OS/2, and in three years’ time, Windows, followed by MS-DOS and poor OS/2.
