The new Decryptum service can handle all Word/Excel 2003/2002/2000/97 files that have been protected with original 40-bit encryption, but it does not support older Word/Excel file formats created with Office 95.
There are several commercial services developed for decryption of Microsoft Office documents, but as a rule, it can take several days to restore a document. It said the Decryptum system will decrypt in less than three minutes any Microsoft Word and Excel file locked using default Microsoft Office encryption.
The online password removal service is priced at $39 for a single file decryption. There is no need for any software to be downloaded or installed.
