Mountain View, California-based Parallan Computer Inc says it is comfortable with analysts’ earnings estimates of 9 cents a share for the third quarter to September 30: the company expects its third quarter revenues to be less than for the first and second quarters of this year, because the $12.9m it did all came from shipment of manufactured products to IBM Corp: it says that because IBM undertook primary production responsibility for the Server 195 and Server 295 in the second quarter, product shipments to IBM fell substantially in the third quarter; Parallan’s primary source of revenue in the future will be royalties paid, and product design and other projects funded, by IBM; after 1993, no minimum royalty payments are required and royalty payments will vary depending on the dollar amount of sales by IBM of licensed products developed by the company.
