Paris Technologies Inc, an OLAP vendor from Doylestown, Pennsylvania, has been chosen by Danish software house Damgaard International A/S to provide the underlying analytical engine for its Axapta business management package, even though it has yet to launch its product commercially. Paris was founded last year, and will only actually launch its product (whose commercial name is still undefined) in September, explained founder and chief operating officer David Liberman. He added that, although Paris itself only came into existence in 1997, his co-founder and chief executive officer Duane Presti spent the previous ten years as a value-added reseller of OLAP tools, an experience which helped shape Paris’s present technology. He argued that, whereas most users have had to cobble together disparate elements including spreadsheets as well as relational and multidimensional databases in order to build a complete decision support system, Paris will seek to offer a complete solution, leveraging all these components.
