PARADYNE COMES UP SMILING WITH NET MANAGER STRATEGY

By CBR Staff Writer

Struggling to return to financial health after the protracted legal battle over with the US government over its ill-fated Social Security Administration contract, Largo, Florida-based Paradyne Corp has launched a second offering for IBM NetView customers under a new network management umbrella strategy. The new product is part of a three-step integration plan initiated last September when the firm launched its Analysis NV/PC product. This has now been modified and relaunched as Netcare NVI NetView Interface – and gives the operator visibility of both IBM and Paradyne nets from an SNA terminal. Paradyne says the product fits in with a new strategy to focus on management of multi-vendor, heterogeneous networks. All products will use a new Netcare INS Integrated Network Systems architecture supporting Open Systems and UNMA standards, and enable other proprietery standards to interface into Netview. Netcare NVI will be available for shipment this quarter in the US, with prices for the product starting at $2,500.
