According to Intelek, the initial deployment represents the first of two phases with the total project valued in excess of $1 million and due to complete in first quarter of 2009. Paradise Datacom’s Evolution modem was designed from the very beginning for IP-centric applications and provides a list of embedded features such as IP link acceleration and IP traffic diagnostics.
Ian Brodie, chief executive of Intelek, said: “It is encouraging to see the development of Paradise Datacom’s Far East business with another contract win on a substantial project in that region. This underlines the importance of Asia in the development of Paradise Datacom and I look forward to reporting further success in the coming months.
Earlier this week Intelek announced that Paradise Datacom has reached an agreement with ViaSat to embed the latter’s Paired Carrier Multiple Access (PCMA) technology into Paradise Datacom modems for improved bandwidth efficiency. The company will incorporate the PCMA feature into its “Quantum” satellite modems. The Quantum modem will also include IP and other cutting-edge features, creating satellite modem.
