Pansophic Systems Inc of Oakbrook, Illinois, has signed a letter of intent with Rhode Island-based Cadre Technologies Inc in a deal which will give it exclusive access to Cadre’s Teamwork family of Cobol- and PL/I-based front-end computer aided software engineering products. The aim of the joint marketing and development deal, which involves Pansophic taking 7.8% of Cadre in convertible preference shares, is to provide compatibility between Teamwork and Pansophic’s Telon PC and mainframe Telon application development tools. Telon will contiinue to support bridges to other software engineering products such as the recent Excelerator/Telon interface from Index Technology. The deal with Pansophic gives Cadre, which has to date focussed on the technical market, access to the commercial software development market.
