PANAMSAT TO SEE ITS FIRST BIRD ON THE BACK OF ARIANE

By CBR Staff Writer

Having won the landing rights it wanted in the UK, Pan American Satellite, Greenwich, Connecticut, has moved on to Scandinavia, joining forces with Swedish radio telecommunications network operator Comvik Skyport AB to co-ordinate with the Intelsat consortium specialised satellite links between North America and the Scandinavian nations: PanAmSat is scheduled to see its first bird, PAS I, transported into orbit on the back of the Ariane rocket within the next few weeks.
