The PacTel Corp subsidiary of Pacific Telesis Group reports that it has 17.5% of the Sistelcom-Telemensaje consortium awarded a national paging licence by the Spanish government: Sistelcom-Telemensaje will construct a nationwide paging system that will start this year and cover all the major cities by 1994; Sistelcom-Telemensaje is a joint venture formed by Sistelcom SA, 70% and Telemensaje SA, 30% but PacTel’s Pacific Telesis International has a 25% interest in Sistelcom; the other partners are Dragados y Construcciones SA with 18.75%, the Union Fenosa SA and FECSA SA electric utilities, 18.75% each; Banco Central Hispano SA, 13.75%, and IPT SA, a telecommunications engineering company which has 5%; Telemensaje is a paging company with operations in Madrid and Barcelona.
