The Oracle applications are being deployed in Packway’s Hong Kong head office and its manufacturing plant in China by Bechelon Consulting, a certified partner in the Oracle PartnerNetwork.
Packway says Oracle’s software should enable it to consolidate all business processes into a single system with the option to adopt additional functionality later.
Having run its business on manual, decentralized systems for more than 20 years, Packway says it was suffering from lack of integration between its finance, manufacturing and sales operations. By consolidating the supply chain and sales operations, the company will have access to up-to-date inventory data, enabling efficient material movement and providing a controlled environment for tracking inventory across its supply chain.
The new Oracle applications implementation for Packway, which includes Oracle Financials, Oracle Purchasing, Oracle Inventory Management, Oracle Order Management, Oracle Discrete Manufacturing and Oracle Manufacturing Scheduling, is expected to go-live in September 2006.
