According to Micro Focus, Revolve will help Pacific Life improve development time, reduce application errors and lessen the costs of integrating existing applications with newer technologies.

Pacific Life says that it continuously enhances millions of lines of COBOL code across several key administrative and financial systems, and needed a new set of tools to understand and analyze existing COBOL code before making changes.

Pacific Life anticipates that improving application development productivity for applications through Revolve will identify the precise changes required within the millions of lines of code and data that make up its systems.

Micro Focus says that its Revolve system will enable the insurer to adapt more quickly to change, and deliver comprehensive results in a reduced timeframe.

We chose Micro Focus Revolve because it is easy to use, yet a very powerful analysis tool for COBOL developers, said Jeff Bradshaw, assistant vice president of application development at Pacific Life. As we continue to implement complex enhancements in our applications, tools like Revolve will help improve our estimation accuracy, software design, development time and software quality, while reducing overall IT costs spent on critical projects.
