PACIFIC BELL TELEPHONE TO CUT RATES

The California Public Utilities Commission has ordered a Christmas present for millions of telephone users in the state: the Pacific Bell Telephone arm of Pacific Telesis Group has been ordered to cut its rates by a total of $726m in the first four months of 1989 and $503m for the rest of the year.
