Pace Micro Technology Plc, the UK-based set-top box maker, has won its first digital contract for the US market with an order from BellSouth in Atlanta for 100,000 multi-point microwave distribution system (MMDS) boxes. This is PaceÆs first contract for MMDS or ædigital wirelessÆ set-top boxes, though the company already supplies satellite, terrestrial and cable services. The first boxes are expected to reach the market in November 1999.
