OZEMAIL ADDS WEB-BASED EMAIL

By CBR Staff Writer

Presumably acting on the belief that there just aren’t enough web-based email services out there yet, Australian internet service provider OzEmail Limited has introduced MyMail. Unlike Hotmail or Yahoo, MyMail doesn’t give users a new email address. Instead, it provides a web interface that customers can use to download their email from one of ten Australian internet service providers, including OzEmail, Big Pond and Voyager. If you use an ISP that’s not on the list, you’re on your own. MyMail is a joint development between OzEmail and fellow antipodean Start Pty Ltd. The service’s other main selling point is that it’s wholly Australian owned.
