Wall Street hears that some of Data General Corp’s Clariion RAID storage customers – namely Hewlett-Packard Co and Silicon Graphics Inc may have over-ordered last quarter and have inventory sitting in the warehouse – which will have a knock-on affect on DG’s fourth quarter revenue. Merill Lynch’s Steve Milunovich expects storage business will be down sequentially but says the underlying demand for Clariion products is strong and that results will improve.
