Texas Instruments-Acer Inc, Taipei, Taiwan has secured a syndicated loan with Citibank NA for $180m to expand production. The joint venture of Texas Instruments Inc and Acer Group Inc will use the money to expand its current production to include 8 wafers and 16M-bit dynamic random access memory chips, starting in the middle of next year. Citibank is seeking other banks to share the burden of underwriting the seven-year loan, reported Dow Jones & Co – it is negotiating the interest rate with other banks and couldn’t give an exact figure.
