Expatriate Brit Adam Osborne, who sprang to fame with his Z80-based Osborne 1 luggable computer 12 years ago, has been named president and chief executive of San Jose, California-based Vision Logic Inc, a five-year-old company that sells VGA boards, controllers and peripherals, but has diversified with a 2 by 5 by 1 portable disk drive that comes with Vision’s IDE interface controller at $400 for 40Mb, $500 for 80Mb and $600 for 120Mb; it plugs into the parallel port of any personal computer so that you need carry only your programs and data around with you; Vision Logic is a spin-off of Advanced Transducer Devices, a board manufacturer bought by TeleVideo Systems Inc.
