The Concerto 6.1, according to the company, provides a unified view of all patient information from multiple systems across the facility by using a combination of a basic single sign-on application with the integration capabilities of a web portal. It is hoped this will enable clinicians to consult multiple applications without signing on and searching for selected patients each time they open a new application.
With single sign-on alone, clinical users may not get the widest and most complete picture of patient data, said Andrew Davidson, director at First Consulting Group, a services provider to the healthcare industry. Without a tie to an enterprise EMPI also, there are genuine implications for patient safety.
The product also promotes the communication and sharing of electronic health records (EHR) by allowing clinicians to subscribe to receive automatic notifications when key care events occur. These notifications can be delivered to a user’s email, pager or Concerto homepage.
In addition, Concerto provides intra-portal messaging to enable clinicians to send electronic messages to other Concerto users across a health community or region. Messages can link to specific documents and data held in the patient’s electronic record.
Concerto 6.1 began its roll out to customers this month.
