The original business of Systems Reliability Holdings Plc – that of supplying telecommunications network management systems, and providing telecommunications maintenance services, is going in a management buyout that will retain the Systems Reliability name, while the parent company will change its name to Enterprise Computer Systems Plc and will concentrate on broking and maintenance of IBM mainframes and software support, plus the Optim Unix systems business. The buyout is described as a UKP16m transaction but Enterprise will retain a 25% stake in Systems Reliability Plc and get UKP12m cash. Senior management holds 20% of the new company, which assumes UKP4m of debt, with the 55% balance held by clients of Murray Johnstone Plc. It is now running at annual turnover of UKP30.9m and has 500 employees; it derives 30% of its turnover abroad.
