The company believes that the billing change will not impact upon its revenues, as subscribers to the operator’s fixed-rate monthly packages can simply talk for longer for the same fee.

The change will make Orange the first operator in France to remove the unpopular requirement that users pay for at least the first minute of a call even if it lasts just a few seconds.

Orange is the market leader in France controlling 49.3% of the market. It believes that the move will accelerate usage and turnover and also bolster its market share.
