Orange unveils new Intel powered smartphone in UK

The new smartphone is powered by Intel's single-core Atom Z2460 processor

Telecommunications operator Orange’s Everything Everywhere has unveiled its Intel based smartphone in UK.

The new Android smartphone, which is previously called as ‘Orange Santa Clara’, is equipped with Intel Atom processor Z2460 and supports HSPA+ with the Intel XMM 6260 Platform.

San Diego features High-definition (HD) video along with 1080p video capture, image stabilisation and HDMI out.

The new handset comes with an 8 mega-pixel camera which features ‘Burst’ mode allowing it to take 10 pictures in under a second and mobile HD voice for enhanced audio quality. It also features a 4.03" capacitive display, A-GPS and Bluetooth 2.1.

The Intel powered smartphone comes with preloaded Orange Wednesday, a 2-4-1 cinema ticket app that allows user to read reviews, watch trailers as well as redeem 2-4-1 vouchers all from the handset.

Your Orange app will help customers keep up to date and manage their Orange account while Orange Gestures app allows users to draw natural gestures on their home screen which can give one-stroke access to their favourite applications or services.

The new smartphone users can also access T-Mobile’s signal, enabling them to call, text and access high speed mobile internet in more places across the UK.

It was manufactured by the Chinese firm Gigabyte and will be marketed under Everything Everywhere’s Orange brand.
