Nashua, New Hampshire-based Mangosoft launched its patent claims against Oracle in November 2002, claiming that the Redwood Shores, California-based company’s Real Application Cluster technology infringed Mangosoft patents.
The US District Court in New Hampshire has now issued a summary judgment stating that Oracle does no infringe Mangosoft patent number 6,148,377. The court denied Oracle’s motion for summary judgment that the patent is invalid and unenforceable. It ruled that there are a number of genuinely disputed material facts that preclude entry of summary judgment as to whether the ‘377 patent is unenforceable and gave Oracle until April 17 to decide if it wants to pursue its claims further.
