Nimish Mehta, senior VP industry applications at Oracle Corp, turns out to have been a casualty of the reorganization of Oracle’s flagging applications business last month. Mehta joined Oracle in 1987 and was responsible for developing the Oracle Workgroup/2000 product suite. He left the company for an unnamed internet start-up company at about the same time that ex SAP AG supersalesman Peter Dunning was hired in an attempt to revitalize the Oracle applications business (CI No 3,448). In March, Mehta’s responsibilities were shifted from vertical market to front office applications, a task that will now be taken on by Mark Barrenechea. As a private investor, Mehta has helped fund companies such as Vision Software Inc and Marketfirst Software Inc.
