ORACLE TO SPEND $25M ON ADS FOR APPLICATIONS

By CBR Staff Writer

Oracle Corp, which has been making a concerted push to boost sales of its applications offerings, has announced that it will be launching a $25m advertising campaign in support of the products. Print ads will appearing immediately, with television, radio and web exposure due this fall. The company says the marketing efforts are being carried out to support the effort to overtake SAP AG as the leader in the enterprise applications market. Poorer-than-expected sales in the applications business have been providing a drag on the company’s financial results recently, with revenues in that segment essentially flat for the recently-reported fourth quarter (CI No 3,434).
