ORACLE TO SHOW IAPX-86 NETWORK COMPUTER NEXT MONTH

Oracle Corp, Redwood Shores, California will unveil the Intel Corp iAPX-86-based version of its Network Computer at Oracle Open World in San Francisco, on November 4. It is likely to cost about $700 and will be aimed at business users. It will come with 8Mb memory, key-board, CGA monitor and a 33.6Kbps modem but no hard disk. The Advanced RISC Machines Ltd ARM RISC Network Computer will be around also, but it’s Larry’s thing, according to the company, so there’s no knowing quite what he’s planning for the show.
