ORACLE TO MAKE ITS FIRST PROFIT HTIS YEAR

Oracle, the teletext system owned by the UK independent television companies – it uses the blanking lines in the television signal raster to broadcast text to television sets fitted with a decoder, and is nothing to do with Oracle Corp will make its first profit this year on a remarkable UKP5.5m turnover, and is considering a Stock Exchange flotation, if, as it hopes, it wins the first separate franchise for teletext, which is due to be awarded in 1991 or 1992.
