ORACLE TO END SUPPORT FOR NON YEAR 2000-COMPLIANT APPS

By CBR Staff Writer

The good news (from Computerworld) is that Oracle Corp is discontinuing support for all versions of its applications package that aren’t year 2000-compliant by December 1998. The bad news is that nearly all of the 3,700 or so users will be affected because the only version of the application package that is completely year 2000-compliant is Oracle Applications 10.7, which came out just two months ago. Oracle customers with maintenance contracts will be upgraded free but will be faced with substantial training and implementation costs.
