Oracle Corp has announced the Early Adopter Programme for Oracle Media Objects, a new generation authoring tool for creating and deploying interactive multimedia applications. A range of multimedia application developers from CD-ROM title producers to major universities are participating in the Oracle Media Objects Early Adopter Programme to develop a variety of interactive multimedia applications such as entertainment and educational CD-ROM titles, interactive books and magazines, kiosk applications, interactive presentations and computer-based training. Oracle’s strategic customers, both regional Bell operating companies and international telecommunications companies, are also using Oracle Media Objects in their interactive television deployments, it says. Multimedia developers participating in the programme include Cambridge Digital Media Inc, da Vinci Time & Space Inc, Ikonic Interactive Inc, Interactive Health Network Inc, the Interactive Marketing Technologies subsidiary of Computers for the Professional Inc, International Video Network, Lehigh University’s Educational Technology Center, and the University of Michigan’s Office of Instructional Technology. Members of the Oracle Programme were chosen by Oracle based on their aggressive interactive multimedia development plans and experience in the multimedia industry.
