Database giant, Oracle Corp, said yesterday that it has selected Sun Microsystems’ Solaris platform to deliver its Buisness OnLine outsourced services, announced last September. Under the partnership, Sun and Oracle said they are working together, at a joint applications technology center, to design the necessary infrastructure for application delivery, database management, networking, security and other services. Researchers from both companies are working to develop optimal application hosting architectures and systems configurations to enable Oracle to offer the outsourcing service, which also yesterday reached the end of its pilot testing phase with three companies, Core Technology Group, Robert Mondavi Corp and Triton Network Systems. á
