Announced at Oracle Appsworld in San Diego, California, Oracle said enhanced integration would allow customers using E-Business Suite 11i.10 with other applications to automate their business processes across the business.
Additionally, hundreds of E-Business Suite interfaces will be exposed as web services while a repository will catalogue APIs, to further assist in customers’ integration projects.
More than 150 open-standard interfaces established by the Open Application Group (OAG) will be adopted, covering activities such as defining a purchase order, and the E-Business Suite will see expanded support for vertical industry standards, including RosettaNet and HL7 for health.
Ron Wohl, Oracle applications development vice president, called E-Business Suite 11i.10 a milestone, as customers could use the software’s sophisticated integration capabilities to reduce time and cost of integration projects.
Also planned is support for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), for Oracle customers to meet the requirements of working with the US Department of Defense and retail giant Wal-Mart – both have mandated that suppliers adopt RFID. E-Business Suite 11i.10 is due for release in the middle of 2004.
