The Redwood Shores, California-based database giant says that Windows users can now easily reap the benefits grid scalability, performance and security benefits of the Oracle 10g Release 2 platform via special .NET Oracle database extensions and stored procedures. These extensions effectively allow Oracle database application developers to use their .NET language of choice.
Oracle and Microsoft seem to be putting their differences behind them and continue to work together in many areas. In May last year Oracle joined Microsoft’s Visual Studio Industry Partner program. Windows users can also benefit from the recent tightened up integration with Oracle’s application clustering technology which turns multiple, networked Windows servers into a scalable computing platform for running database applications.
Oracle Database 10g Release 2 is also available on Linux and Unix.
