The new Oracle Portal configured for retailers provides a common, single sign-on user interface for Retek’s merchandise management, supply chain execution, store and multi-channel retailing and CRM suite. Both companies recently showcased the integration at the Retail Systems 2005 conference in Chicago.

The Oracle Portal surfaces process and role-specific specific functionality from a single user interface. The portal is built on top of Oracle’s application server platform.

Our teams are committed to making rapid progress in integrating the Oracle and Retek solutions, said Charles Phillips, president of Redwood Shores, California-based Oracle.

Joint customers like Best Buy, Nexcom and Colorado Group welcomed the integration move, which Oracle has delivered well ahead of schedule. Most Retek customers already run Oracle financial and human resources applications…it’s a perfect fit, said Bob Willet, chief information officer at Best Buy.

Oracle bought Minneapolis, Minnesota-based Retek in April for $670m, after a brief bidding war with rival business applications software maker SAP.
