Oracle Corp unveiled its response to Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange with InterOffice yesterday, the group software for corporate Intranets, formerly code-named Pegasus. Oracle says it’s launching up to a year ahead of groupware products from Microsoft, IBM and Netscape. InterOffice includes tools for linking database and Web files, replication and security. It says InterOffice’s ability to search by theme and summarize results for users is unique. It includes multimedia messaging, automatic workflow routing and organizing corporate documents into Web-based files searchable by theme as well as by word. It’s due out next month at $95 per user. Oracle also announced its annual financial results yesterday (see today’s financial news section).
