ORACLE CORP BUYS CLUSTERED PYRAMID NILE SERVERS TO RUN ORACLE7 IN A LABORATORY ENVIRONMENT

While Sybase Inc unwraps its long awaited Navigational Server, Pyramid Technology Corp is to provide high-end, clustered Pyramid Nile series servers as part of Oracle Corp’s Enterprise System Centre. The Mountain View, California based Pyramid already has its Nile servers hooked up to massively parallel processing ICL Plc Goldrush Megaserver. The deal with Oracle has Pyramid running the Oracle7 database in a lab environment modelling performance and stress testing, very large database testing and complex problem resolution in support of shared customers. Oracle and Pyramid have been in cahoots of one shape or another since 1985, mainly working on engineering and business.
