ORACLE ANNOUNCES TWO NEW SOFTWARE PACKAGES

By CBR Staff Writer

Belmont, California based Oracle Corp has announced two new packages which provide Lotus 1-2-3 users with distributed database and networking capabilities: the two packages are made made up of specially bundled options from Oracle’s distributed networking technology, SQL*Star; the first set of options is packaged for Lotus users who want dynamic access to either IBM’s DB2 database or an Oracle distributed database in which DB2 plays a part, the second set of options enables Lotus users to access Oracle on any of the 58 supported host computers via a number of protocols; pricing will be announced later this month, with the products going into full production with support of all protocols in July.
