The Redmond, California-based enterprise applications company announced the arrival of 26 new Business Accelerator Flows. Consisting of a range of vertical and horizontally focused services and product-based bundles, they are geared towards helping organizations implement improved business flows en route to the ever-sought-after rapid ROI.

By offering pre-defined, pre-tested implementation programs, they aim to reduce the complexity and cost of implementing Oracle E-Business Suite, to provide a route for incremental implementation, and can be linked to additional fixed-price/fixed-scope service plans. Oracle also said that 75% of its customer base is engaged with 11i.

The emphasis on implementation and ROI were delivered against the ongoing rumble from the unhappy Oracle user group, and disquiet over Oracle’s decision to end support for Oracle 10.7 in June.

Oracle has already extended the deadline for support twice following complaints from users about the complexity of the upgrade process. The user group is pressing for a further extension to take support through 2004, but Oracle maintains that the deadline of June 30, 2003 will stick.

Analysts at AMR Research note that on average it takes 39% longer than expected for organizations to upgrade to 11i, and costs 43% more than expected.
