The company has paid an undisclosed amount for ownership of the secure remote access FileFish File Portal Server programs, which will be folded into Oracle’s Collaboration Product Suite. The Mountain View, California-based start-up had been backed to the tune of $4.6m by Mobius Venture Capital, Softbank Venture Capital and France Telecom’s venture division, Innovacom.
Its software aggregates files that exist in geographically dispersed storage systems to allow remote users to access, view or share files that reside on their desktops or corporate networks from anywhere, without having to synchronize or copy files beforehand.
