Oracle has unveiled Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center, which the company says helps reduce hardware management costs through a converged approach to manage its Sun hardware environments.
The new Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center simplifies hardware management in traditional, virtualised and cloud-based datacentre environments, according to the company.
The Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center includes new hardware management capabilities for the engineered systems including Exadata Database Machine, Exalogic Elastic Cloud, Sun ZFS Storage Appliance product line and network fabric.
In addition, the new enterprise manager comes with unified management capabilities across Oracle’s hardware and software, that enables an integrated application-to-disk management.
Oracle said that the new offering also consists converged hardware management, which provides an integrated infrastructure management; integrated application-to-disk management; integrated lifecycle management; and integrated hardware management and support.
Oracle systems management vice president Steve Wilson said this release represents an advancement in the company’s integrated application-to-disk management approach and is a perfect example of the value that can be created when hardware and software are engineered to work together.
"The Enterprise Manager 11g Ops Center allows our customers to benefit from common management capabilities across Oracle’s hardware and software," Wilson said.
"It provides a single, intuitive management console that spans a broad range of infrastructure and software assets, we are enabling customers to streamline operations, improve productivity and dramatically reduce management costs."
