Oracle has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the UK Cabinet Office, to support the government’s efficiency agenda.
The company said that it is working to deliver innovative technology and enhancing its services in order to meet the targets set by the UK government.
Oracle said that it has a long standing strategic relationship with the UK government and will continue to deliver on existing projects as well as support it in new initiatives to restructure its business processes while enhancing service to constituents.
Microsoft has also signed a similar deal with the UK Cabinet Office, in support of the initiative to centralise Government procurement announced in July by Minister for the Cabinet Office Francis Maude.
Microsoft general manager of Public Sector Nicola Hodson said, they look forward to working with Francis Maude and all their Government customers in meeting their goals of reducing the overall cost of Government IT whilst working with them on developing innovative solutions to drive further efficiencies and improve productivity.
"This new MOU deepens the collaborative relationship we already have with UK Government and builds on PSA09, the software purchasing model Microsoft recently formed with the UK public sector, which has successfully driven better value for money, greater choice and flexibility in the licensing of enterprise software," Hodson said.
