By CBR Staff Writer

Oracle has released MySQL Cluster 7.2 in a bid to cost-effectively deliver availability, write scalability and low latency for highly demanding Web-based and communications products and services.

With MySQL Cluster 7.2, users can deploy a distributed, scalable database with both SQL and NoSQL interfaces, with the ability to perform complex queries or multi-table transactions with ACID guarantees.

The new software allows users to perform both simple key value and complex queries across the same data set in the same database
The release lets users to gain up to a 70x increase in performance on complex queries and enhanced multi-data centre scalability.

MySQL servers eliminate the need for administrators to define and maintain privileges on each SQL node accessing the cluster.

The new release is certified with Oracle VM, Oracle Linux and Oracle Solaris.

Oracle MySQL Engineering vice-president Tomas Ulin said the performance and flexibility enhancements in MySQL Cluster 7.2 provide users with a foundation for their mission-critical Web workloads, blending SQL and NoSQL technologies to reduce risk, cost and complexity.
