Oracle has introduced Communications IP Service Activator Release 7.0, a key component in its Converged Fulfillment for Business Services offering.

Oracle’s Converged Fulfillment for Business Services offering enables CSPs to create, launch and fulfill highly-differentiated, converged business services including connectivity, data, voice, video and cloud services, said the company.

The new Communications IP Service Activator abstracts service and vendor complexity to simplify the provisioning of complex IP and Ethernet connectivity services including: IP MPLS layer 2 and layer 3 VPNs, Ethernet VLANs and QoS.

In addition, the Communications IP Service Activator 7.0 supports the new Oracle technologies, including Solaris 10, Linux 5 with VM Server for x86, Database 11g Enterprise Edition and Real Application Clusters (RAC) 11g.

Oracle communications products vice-president Liam Maxwell said service providers struggle to streamline and automate the delivery of IP and Ethernet data services in a complex, multivendor network that is undergoing continuous technology refreshes such as upgrading to IPv6.

"Oracle Communications IP Service Activator 7.0 leverages an intelligent vendor and technology-agnostic service model to minimise this complexity, enabling service providers to focus on key business requirements such as the creation and rapid delivery of differentiated offers," Maxwell said.
