The Salinas, California-based company will integrate Ingres Corp’s open source database products into its BI offerings. Optwize has also joined Ingres’ Involve partner program.
The two companies have been collaborating since September 2006 to implement BI systems on top of Pentaho Corp’s BI Application suite which runs on the latest Ingres 2006 database.
In a parallel move Optwize has also joined Pentaho’s partner program as well. Orlando, Florida-based Pentaho offers an open source BI suite comprising of query, reporting, OLAP, data integration, data mining and workflow components.
The move is intended to provide small and medium sized businesses with opportunities to deploy BI at a much lower cost than using commercial software and services.
Optwize, which also offers offshore and nearshore systems development services, has additional offices in Europe and India. It has a strong focus on the consumer banking and packaged goods sectors.
