Optigon Interactive Inc of Emeryville, California introduced the Total Entertainment Network on-line service at the Consumer Electronics Show in Chicago. The system will focus on high-quality games, accessible information services, and communications as entertainment. Total Entertainment Network offers a range of multiplayer gaming and simulated environments that it says cannot be found elsewhere. The network is currently in beta test in the San Francisco Bay Area and will commence operation nationally in the US this autumn. It is based on a five-point philosophy incorporating an entertainment emphasis, sophisticated style, high-level of subscriber involvement, catered information services and high performance and brings together individuals with shared interests by providing direct access to progressive games, information and tools as well as the ability to communicate in real-time with other games-players. The company will release additional details regarding specific multiplayer and classic two-player games available on the system late this summer.
