In the fourth quarter to January 31, the net loss was $5.3m, down from a loss of $33.6m on revenue of $131,000 down from $15.9m. For the year, the loss was $3.2m, down from a loss of $210.6m on revenue of $37.7m, down from $56m.

Having sold its managed service business to Electronic Data Systems Corp for $63.5m in August 2002, and changed its name from Loudcloud Inc, Opsware now expects to be cash flow positive by the second quarter. It will receive a substantial boost from the $52m, three-year licensing agreement with EDS, and the partnership will give it access to its entire list of enterprise customers.
