Opera software has unveiled Mobile 9.7 beta, the next version of its web browser for Windows-based mobile phones, which claims to accelerate the mobile browsing with its Opera Turbo feature.

According to Opera, the new version comes with an enhanced browser engine Opera Presto 2.2 to improve page loads and overall performance. It also comes with Opera Widgets which is expected to enable users to get the required web content with fewer clicks and in less time.

Opera Presto 2.2 is a rendering engine that helps display web pages on phone up to 25% faster. It is the same rendering engine used in Opera’s desktop browser.

The company said that the new Opera Mobile improves download rates by rendering responsibilities to opera servers. Opera Turbo uses advanced compression technology to speed up data transfer and claims to reduce the data that needs to be downloaded by up to 80%.

Opera Mobile 9.7 beta includes the add-on Opera Widgets manager and Opera Widgets SDK. Widgets manager enables users to access their favourite services with just one click, including the pre-installed widgets like GeoQuiz, Twitter, Bubbles, MyStatus and Google translate.
