The company said version 7.2 contains better support for certain bi-directional languages including Hebrew and Arabic, in addition to a few hundred other fixes and flow and feature refinements.

Much of the company’s announcement was taken up by swings at the opposition – the Mozilla technology used in Netscape and Microsoft Corp’s Internet Explorer.

AOL Time Warner Inc recently more or less washed its hands of Mozilla, giving the project fully over to the open source. Microsoft is scaling back its IE developments. With the next version of Windows, standalone versions of IE are expected to be discontinued.

Opera also said that it will start offering Happy Hour discounts on its browser software. For a random two-hour period each day, buyers will get 25% off the usual Opera ticket price.
