Opera Software has introduced Web Pass, a new service that will enable mobile operators to offer their subscribers selected access to the web who don’t have have a data plan.

The new Web Pass allows operators to offer package time- or site-specific data applications to their users, enabling subscribers to get online using their mobile phones.

Enabling operators to offer on-demand web browsing, the new service will help limited or no mobile data customers with pay for web access for the next few hours or pay just to access certain websites.

With the new application, users can choose the time they would like to access the web, rather than the amount of megabytes.

The users can also secure web access for an hour or a day, or can also access a particular online service like Facebook or Google by paying for the service.

Opera Software CEO Lars Boilesen said: "The Opera Web Pass is in the sweet spot between the operator and the end user. Making the web smooth and simple, that is what Opera is all about."
