OpenVision Inc has given its OpenVSpooler print management software a new graphical interface. The new package will cost $3,200, with each systems agent priced at $100. OpenVisions’ new OpenVAccounting module enables users to track and account for use of resources across an organisation and will start at around $10,000 – with an extra $100 per agent. The Pleasanton, California-based company has also enhanced its OpenVNetBackup software with extended support for hierarchical storage management. This means that less active files and data can be transparently moved to storage to minimise back-up transfers. It has also added an enterprise extension, which can send files on to remote management applications for network-wide access. Hierarchical Storage Management extensions and enterprise extensions are bundled with OpenVNetBackup. These HSM extensions will be priced from $20,000 upwards, while enterprise extensions will cost from $10,000.
