OPEN MICROSYSTEMS OFFERS TO KEEP CRITCIAL DATA SAFE

Austin, Texas company Open Microsystems Inc’s touting SafeDistance software it says enables IBM Corp’s Adstar distributed storage manager to automatically store disaster- recovery backups in off-site automated tape libraries. SafeDistance runs on AIX servers and although it can be used without ADSM’s disaster recovery module being present, the IBM software helps manage the recovery process after a disaster.
